The successful candidate will work closely with IT, engineering, and business managers to design, develop, and implement scalable, highly-available, high-performance systems and infrastructure solutions for our client-services delivery products, global data centers, corporate enterprise, and business partners. The candidate will provide a technical leadership role in architecting a Web-centric, highly redundant, large-scale, high-volume, online transaction-processing environment. Responsibilities include multitiered UNIX systems architecture, systems security, access controls, storage formats and structures, performance optimization, and capacity-management modeling. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and team leadership skills with the ability to drive meaningful results in collaboration with a distributed team.
Principal Roles and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and implement systems technologies and security within i2c’s global systems infrastructure
Perform infrastructure analysis, design, and implementation in support of application development.
Design and maintain systems-infrastructure-related service-level requirements
Perform server and application integration
Perform capacity-management activities
Document related systems-infrastructure strategies and plans, monitoring, backup, and recovery processes
Assist in developing standard operating procedures and guidelines
Monitor emerging new products, standards, and technologies that enhance/impact i2c’s global infrastructure
Provide internal subject-matter expertise on systems-infrastructure design and support
Provide team leadership role within systems-infrastructure architecture group
Complete projects and tasks on time, within budget, independently, and with limited direct supervision
Travel up to 25% of time (may be required)
Skills and Core Competencies:
Minimum of 4 years of experience with multitiered, large-scale, online transaction-processing systems, distributed file systems, and distributed query-processing system environments (required)
Minimum of 3 years of experience with Solaris UNIX, Apache (required)
Experience with Java, JBoss, MySQL, LDAP, clustering, EMC storage, performance monitoring (required)
Experience with shell scripting, Perl, C, C++, Java, PHP, XML, virtual machine, encryption (preferred)
Experience with open systems (preferred)
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and security devices (preferred)
Knowledge of business-continuity and disaster-recovery practices (preferred)
Strong project-management skills with ability to prioritize
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work in a demanding user environment
Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Ability to work with geographically dispersed organizations
High-energy, innovative, creative, organized, decisive, and outgoing personality
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related discipline required (master’s degree preferred)
Formal certification in systems administration or architecture preferred
