Director, IT Infrastructure

The Director, IT Infrastructure, will manage the company’s data centers and technology assets. This is a highly visible position requiring active cross-functional participation with representatives from all levels within the company. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical and management skills and is able to drive meaningful business results in collaboration with a distributed team.

Principal Roles and Responsibilities:
Implement and operate a high-availability computing infrastructure to meet service level agreements.
Responsible for the onsite and outsourced operation of application and database servers.
Responsible for companywide applications, such as electronic mail, file sharing.
Responsible for centralized and decentralized data center operations.
Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Manage the 24x7 network operations center.
Work with the technical architecture group to set and enforce technical standards and operations.
Ensure applications and data is appropriately backed up, secure, and restorable.
Responsible for centralized account management, access control, and security.
Responsible for database administration.
Responsible for ensuring delivery of training in the proper use of information technology.
Enforce computing use policies.
Hold staff, contractors, and outsourcers to high standards.
Prepare and manage budgets.
Create succinct and effective infrastructure requirements that reflect current and future needs.
Work with the client services group to ensure quality service is delivered to clients.
Contribute to overall business strategy and business plan.
Use metrics to measure effectiveness and drive improvement.

Qualifications/Core Competencies:
Experience in implementing and operating the infrastructure for a mission-critical OLTP environment.
Ability to work in a demanding user environment.
Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize.
Demonstrated ability to manage geographically dispersed staff.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Strong verbal and written skills with ability to present and influence stakeholders.
High-energy, innovative, creative, organized, decisive, and outgoing personality.
Ability to clearly articulate a point of view verbally and in writing, in person and on the phone.
Ability to work with geographically dispersed organizations.
Strong interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with peers, clients, and potential clients.
Exceptional customer (user) service focus.
Experienced in managing 20+ engineers remotely.
Ability to be hands on, to roll sleeves up and get into details at times.
Experience with open systems preferred.
